Job summary

Carrington West is representing an independent building services consultancy seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Croydon or central London. You will work across healthcare, education, commercial and public sector projects, delivering mechanical design, calculations and BIM modelling in Cymap/MEPWorx, AutoCAD and Revit.

You will support Senior Engineers and Directors, develop your technical skills, and progress toward Senior Mechanical Engineer while enjoying

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• UK building services consultancy experience is preferred.
• Experience with Cymap/MEPWorx or similar calculation software.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to attend site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Mechanical Engineers and Directors with surveys, mechanical design, specifications and contract administration.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Undertake heat loss and heat gain calculations and size pipework, ductwork, drainage and plant equipment.
• Use Cymap/MEPWorx and other engineering software for mechanical calculations.
• Produce marked-up drawings and CAD/Revit modelling as required.
• Coordinate with clients, architects and other consultants within multidisciplinary teams.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new opportunity with an established building services consultancy? Our client, an independent building services consultancy with offices in Croydon and Central London, is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. You will be working across healthcare, commercial, education, defence, industrial, leisure and public sector projects, the consultancy delivers a broad range of technically challenging building services projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Senior Mechanical Engineers and Directors with surveys, mechanical design, specifications and contract administration.

What They’re Looking For:

• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Previous UK building services consultancy experience.
• Experience with Cymap/MEPWorx or similar mechanical calculation software.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant British Standards relating to mechanical services design.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services design principles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to attend site visits and client meetings.
