Instrumentation Engineer – Manufacturing

Salary: £45,000 + Bonus

A well-established and reputable manufacturing business based in Cumbria is looking to appoint an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically trained engineer to take ownership of instrumentation and control systems within a modern, high-performing industrial environment.

The Role

As the Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of all instrumentation and control equipment across the site. You will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance while supporting wider engineering and improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot a wide range of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve site reliability.
  • Support process automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to long-term asset performance and reliability strategies.
