Job summary

Acora One is seeking an Installations Engineer to support customers across diverse technologies, including servers, networks, and Microsoft 365 deployments. You'll deliver projects end-to-end, from planning through to on-time completion, while maintaining detailed records and ensuring top-notch customer service.

The role supports a hybrid working pattern with a balance of office presence and remote work, and offers a benefits package including pension, private medical, and ongoing learning

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support or internal/outsourced IT departments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 products and deployment.
  • Knowledge of firewalls and IPsec tunnels.
  • Understanding of IP-based networks and VLANs.
  • Full clean manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, install, and document IT systems and networks for varied customer projects.
  • Deliver end-to-end projects from planning to on-time completion.
  • Attend customer meetings and act as a confident project contact.
  • Manage caseload and keep records using Dynamics and Halo PSA.
  • Carry out server work, networking tasks, and Microsoft 365 deployments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer needs.
  • Highlight opportunities for customer improvements with Account Managers.

Job description

Job Title: Installations Engineer

Engagement: Full-time, permanent

Location: Norwich

Working hours: 08:50 - 17:40

Salary: Up to £40,000

About the role

You will provide support to our customers, working across an array of different technologies and setups. Whether it's over the phone, through remote assistance, or onsite at the customer offices, you'll handle each case with efficiency and professionalism, showcasing your excellent customer service skills

Within the business, you will play an instrumental part in providing IT support to over 5,000 end users. Our team operates within the framework of ISO-accredited policies, priding ourselves on ensuring that excellence is our standard and continually seeking improvements.

As part of the role, we operate a shift schedule that provides flexibility and allows a balance of working in our office and working from the comfort of a remote location.

What you'll do
  • Planning, installing, and documenting IT systems and networks for customer projects of varying scale and complexity
  • Delivering end-to-end project work - from initial planning through to successful, on-time completion
  • Attending customer meetings and acting as a confident, professional point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Managing your own caseload and keeping accurate records using our systems (including Microsoft Dynamics and Halo PSA)
  • Carrying out server work, networking tasks, Microsoft 365 deployments, and telephony installations
  • Collaborating with internal teams to understand customer needs and ensure smooth project delivery
  • Identifying and highlighting opportunities for customer improvements, working with Account Managers and other departments
  • Working with and guiding fellow team members, sharing knowledge and supporting project delivery as a team
  • Upholding health & safety standards and adhering to our ISO accreditations (ISO 9001 and ISO 27001)
What you'll bring
  • At least 3 years of experience working within an internal or outsourced IT department
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 products and their deployment
  • Knowledge of firewalls and IPsec tunnels
  • Understanding of IP-based networks and VLANs
  • Full clean manual driving licence
