Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant in Newport. The role offers full-time, part-time and flexible opportunities starting September 2026, with competitive daily rates from £90 per day, depending on experience.

You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, assist with engaging activities, and help maintain positive behaviour. Fluency in Welsh is essential, with DBS confirmation or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker is essential.
• Experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Positive, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help deliver engaging learning activities alongside the class teacher.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs.
• Assist with classroom preparation and daily learning activities.
• Communicate confidently through Welsh where required.
