Job summary

SEND Inclusion Support is recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher for a partner school in Newbury, Berkshire. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with SEND and providing cover when required.

You will work in a supportive school environment, using specialist SEND knowledge to adapt teaching to individual needs, while upholding high expectations and safeguarding pupil wellbeing.

All appointments are subject to safeguarding checks and enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND.
• Ability to adapt teaching to different needs and abilities.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to support the school with additional cover when required.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Experience within a specialist SEND, SEMH, autism or alternative provision setting would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to pupils' needs.
• Adapting teaching, resources and approaches for SEND.
• Monitoring pupil progress and addressing barriers to learning.
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
• Providing additional teaching cover when required.
• Maintaining high expectations while recognising individual starting points.
• Supporting positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school.
