Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd in Maidenhead is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming school starting in October 2026. This full-time role requires delivering differentiated lessons and supporting pupils with a range of needs, underpinned by safeguarding and inclusive practice.

The successful candidate will collaborate with SENCOs, staff, and families to monitor progress and promote positive outcomes for pupils. DBS update service is preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Caring, patient, nurturing and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider SEN and school team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Commitment to inclusion and ensuring every pupil thrives.
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt curriculum, learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and interventions.
  • Work with SENCOs, parents, carers and professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Build positive relationships and maintain a calm, safe classroom environment.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
  • Use diverse teaching strategies for varied needs, including sensory and behavioural supports.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress to inform planning.
  • Set realistic targets to build confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour through positive strategies.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Communicate with parents and professionals regarding pupil progress.
  • Support pupils during wider school activities and safeguarding procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development.
