Job summary

Esland Shropshire School is seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to support pupils aged 8-18 with SEND and SEMH. The role focuses on building strong relationships, emotional safety and academic progress in a calm, inclusive classroom.

You will plan unified lessons across core subjects, develop ILPs, contribute to EHCP reviews, and work with teaching assistants, families and external professionals to deliver pupil-centred education within a supportive leadership framework.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
• Experience teaching across key stages and SEND/SEMH.
• Strong inclusive teaching and behaviour-support strategies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• ECT completion.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects.
• Work with ILPs and EHCP reviews.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, families and external professionals.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Support with pastoral care and assessment.
