Job summary

WHSmith in Sutton is seeking a proactive Team Leader to guide a motivated store team, drive exceptional customer service and help achieve business objectives. You’ll foster a welcoming environment where colleagues can develop and feel valued as part of a proud high‑street retailer.

In this role you’ll lead from the front, coach teammates, manage performance and uphold safety and compliance while delivering results aligned with the trading plan.

Qualifications

• Current/recent retail leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience proactively leading from the front and helping on the shop floor.
• Flexible approach to support other stores in the area when needed.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Experience in training and developing colleagues and motivating teams.

• Guide and engage your team to deliver excellent standards and results in line with the Trading plan.
• Create a culture of learning, support and recognition - spotting opportunities for development of personal skills, product knowledge and self-awareness.
