Job summary

WHSmith Travel is seeking a Team Leader to guide and inspire a busy store team, delivering exceptional customer service while achieving business objectives and maintaining a compliant, safe environment.

You’ll coach colleagues on product knowledge, support training, and flexibly cover nearby stores when needed. Strong communication and relationship-building are essential to motivate performance and uphold WHSmith standards across our travel locations.

Qualifications

• Current/recent retail leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience of proactively leading from the front and helping the team on the shop floor.
• Flexibility to support other stores in the area when needed.
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Experience of supporting employee training and development, and motivating teams to deliver their best.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the team to deliver excellent customer service and meet business objectives.
• Create a culture of learning, support and recognition and identify opportunities for personal skill development and product knowledge.
• Support colleagues in an environment where everyone feels valued and welcome.
• Create pride within the store to ensure operations are safe and compliant.
• Guide the team to achieve KPI targets and contribute to the Trading plan.
