Job summary

Prospero Teaching is actively seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher for a rewarding role in Acocks Green. The position starts ASAP and is initially temporary with potential for permanent progression. It is a full-time, term-time only role from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons for primary-aged pupils with SEN, differentiate learning, and foster an inclusive classroom. Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and SEN staff to support pupils' development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working within SEN settings or supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• References available upon request.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to primary-aged pupils with SEN.
• Differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities and needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and wider school staff.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
