Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEN Teacher for ASAP start in a secondary SEN school in Erdington. This long-term opportunity offers full-time, term-time only work with a temporary-to-permanent path.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons for students with Special Educational Needs, differentiate to meet varied abilities, and work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and staff to support academic and personal development.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working within SEN settings or supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• References available upon request.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with Special Educational Needs.
• Differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities and needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and wider school staff.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
