Job summary

The Manchester College is seeking a Maths Teacher (Alternative Provision) to deliver GCSE Maths to Key Stage 4 learners at its Openshaw PRU campus. This role is fixed-term until 31 July 2027, part-time (17.5 hours per week), based in Manchester, with a pro-rata salary and access to extensive benefits.

You will contribute to inclusive and ambitious teaching that helps re-engage young people. We welcome candidates with QTS and current industry specialism, who can work collaboratively, plan lessons

Qualifications

• Certificate of education or PGCE with QTS or QTLS.
• Current and valid industry specialism.
• Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
• Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
• English and maths minimum Level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
• Significant experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
• Proven track record of high-quality teaching in subject specialism or current valid industry specialism.
• Working as a team.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet delivery targets and plans.
• Accurate and timely reports and records.
• Positive contribution to planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across programmes.
• Plan, assess and provide meaningful feedback, ensuring learning outcomes are met.
• Support learners’ progress and wellbeing by working with tutors and support staff.
• Maintain accurate records and meet quality standards, including registers and assessment records.
