Job summary

Leeds City College are recruiting 5 Learning Support Assistants to support our PMLD and Complex Needs department. This role is part-time and reduced year with 18 hours over 3 days per week (39 weeks per year) and 30 hours over 5 days per week (39 weeks per year).

The team focuses on independent living skills within the Preparation for Adulthood framework, offering a supportive environment, and opportunities to develop learners’ independence and life skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with PMLD or complex needs would be beneficial.
• Ability to create resources to engage learners.
• Ability to work as part of a nurturing, supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Support and contribute to the delivery of courses in Independent Living skills.
• Support students in line with curriculum objectives and EHCP outcomes.
• Create resources to engage and develop learners.
• Support with practical skills to help learners on their journey into Adulthood.
• Assist in assessing learners' progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Work as part of a team to create a nurturing environment for learners.
