Job summary

TeacherActive in Leeds is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs across all year groups in Alternative Provisions. The role involves delivering individualised classroom support and helping pupils access learning.

You will work with teaching staff to promote engagement, build relationships and adapt methods to meet each pupil's needs. Short-term and long-term opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with complex or additional needs.
• Experience working within an education, SEND or Alternative Provision setting.
• Confidence providing individualised support to pupils.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• A can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised classroom support to pupils with complex needs.
• Encourage engagement and participation in learning.
• Help pupils access learning in a way that meets their needs.
• Work alongside teaching and support staff to deliver support.
