Keighley College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a reduced year, part-time post (19 hours/36 weeks). The pro-rata salary is £11,223 per annum, with responsibilities spanning classroom support, personal care, and aiding students with SEN in mainstream settings.

You will join the Study Programmes Department and contribute to positive outcomes for disadvantaged learners while upholding safeguarding and equality aims.

Qualifikationen

• Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy or commitment to achieving within one year of appointment.
• Experience of working in a team in an educational setting.
• Experience of working with students who have high needs or SEN to support learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
• Be computer literate and have awareness of disability, equality and diversity issues.
• Ability to assist with personal care including wheelchair users.
• Commitment to PREVENT and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to establish rapport with high-needs students and maintain professional boundaries.

Aufgaben

• Provides support within the classroom and off-site visits.
• Help support students with additional needs (wheelchair users, hearing/visual impairments).
• Involved in planning, preparation and assessment as part of the course team.
• Provide in-class support to meet needs of high-needs students.
• Provide reports on progress and strategies to teachers and learning support staff.
• Assist with emergency evacuation plans and drills.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress.
