Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a well-established independent school in Worksop to appoint a History Teacher from November 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will plan and deliver History lessons across Key Stages, maintain high teaching standards and manage classrooms effectively.

QTS or ECTs welcome; strong history knowledge and enthusiasm are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or provisional QTS for ECTs.
• Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge of the History curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons for different abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across a range of Key Stages.
• Assess student progress and maintain high teaching standards.
• Manage classrooms effectively and adapt lessons as needed.
