Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Worksop is seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join an established independent school for a maternity cover starting November 2026. The role is full-time, on-site, and long-term, teaching History across Key Stages and delivering engaging lessons.

The successful candidate will hold QTS (ECTs welcomed), have secondary history teaching experience, strong subject knowledge, and excellent classroom management.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated History Teacher from November 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful History Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging History lessons across a combination of Key Stages, assessing student progress and maintaining high standards of teaching and classroom management.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (ECTs are also welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the History curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to different abilities
• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
