Job summary

The Northumberland Church of England Academy invites applications for an experienced History Teacher to join our ambitious secondary school team on a fixed-term maternity cover. This 0.8fte post (with possibility of full-time) offers a collaborative environment, high expectations and a commitment to excellence.

You will deliver engaging lessons, support students' progress, build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues, and contribute to safeguarding in line with Trust policies.

• Knowledgeable and inspirational History Teacher with a passion for bringing history to life in the classroom.
• Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and track student progress.

• Support and guide students in their learning, and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all learners can thrive.
• Build strong and professional relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers to ensure every student receives effective support and encouragement.
• Monitor student progress and use assessment effectively to inform teaching and promote excellent outcomes.
• Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
