Job summary

Central YMCA in Doncaster is seeking a part-time Maths Tutor to deliver engaging sessions and help learners achieve functional skills or GCSE maths. You will work with a small cohort and provide pastoral support to build confidence and progression.

The role requires PGCE or equivalent, Level 3 maths and Level 2 English, with a focus on inclusive teaching and barrier removal. 20 hours per week, pro‑rata benefits, and a collaborative team are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage learners and build confidence in maths.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Experience delivering maths up to GCSE/Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills and GCSE maths.
• Embed work readiness, behaviour and social skills into lessons.
• Monitor learner progress and set targets.
• Organise assessments, coursework and examinations.
• Provide pastoral support to learners.
• Maintain learner records using ICT and tracking systems.
• Build links with apprenticeship tutors and external organisations.
