Key duties and responsibilities
- Manage a mixed case load of insolvency appointments and assist team members
- Administer insolvency cases from advice to closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies
- Address creditors’ claims, including retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims
- Report to secured creditors
- Assist in continuing trading on-site as required
- Prepare documentation for statutory meetings
- Assist employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments service
- Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard ones
- Maintain accurate books and records, ensuring their safekeeping and proper handling
- Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions
- Process banking and cheque requests for estate funds
- Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns
- Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to current legislation, including SIPS
- Maintain and update case diaries and tasks in IPS
- Coordinate with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants
- Prepare supporting documents for sales
- Update and manage case checklists
- Attend meetings in and out of the office as needed
- Participate in marketing events
- Delegate tasks and support junior staff
Reporting, relationships & management
- Support and train staff, delegate tasks
- Assist other case executives
- Report case progress to IP
Qualifications & experience
- AAT or CPI qualification is advantageous but not mandatory
- Experience with corporate insolvency appointments within an IP firm is required
- Knowledge of IPS Cloud is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and IPS
- High professional standards and conduct
- Self-motivated and proactive about updates in legislation and best practices
- Effective time management and flexibility
- Good communication skills and professionalism
- Ability to manage workload and deadlines responsibly
- Keep IP updated on case progress and issues
- Enthusiastic and committed to completing tasks
- Positive representation of the firm at networking events
