Job summary

AECOM is seeking experienced programme management professionals to support advisory and delivery across the full lifecycle of infrastructure programmes in the UK. You will shape, initiate, and deliver client investments and business change programmes, often leading cross‑functional teams and PMOs.

The role involves managing multi-disciplinary commissions, developing proposals, building senior client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in public and private sector infrastructure projects and programmes.
• Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary programmes and PMOs.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, relationship management and commercial acumen.
• Consulting background with PMO and programme management on major commissions.
• Experience building senior-level client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
• Experience managing and developing teams within a consultancy environment.
• PMO governance, cost, schedule, risk and change management.
• Proficiency with PMO tools and project controls software such as Primavera P6 and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in delivering strategic goals related to capability, growth and commercial targets.
• Lead or support delivery of significant, complex programme management advisory or delivery commissions with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure commissions are delivered to quality standards and commercial expectations.
• Apply robust risk identification, evaluation and mitigation across commissions.
• Develop relationships with clients and cross-functional teams to enable successful delivery.
• Identify and exploit business development opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Lead and support proposal development through the bid process.
• Ensure direct reports are engaged and developed along their career journeys.
• Share knowledge and promote best practices internally and with industry bodies.
