Hyra in Glasgow is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join a friendly, collaborative IT team. You’ll work with the IT Manager to maintain and upgrade Windows Server environments, AD, networking, and Microsoft technologies while developing hands‑on infrastructure skills.

You’ll be involved in day‑to‑day support, projects, and upgrades across virtualization, storage and security, with a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting and administering Windows Server environments.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Practical networking knowledge and confident troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of Hyper‑V virtualization and Microsoft technologies, including Intune and Entra ID.
• An understanding of server hardware, storage, backups and infrastructure security.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and administering Windows Server environments, including configuration, patching and upgrades.
• Managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Entra ID and Intune.
• Supporting Hyper‑V virtualization, virtual machines and associated infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting server, networking, hardware and infrastructure issues.
• Assisting with physical server hardware, storage systems and data centre operations.
• Supporting backup solutions, disaster recovery, system monitoring and IT security.
• Providing technical support to internal users and contributing to infrastructure upgrades and improvement projects.
