Job summary

Nine Twenty Technology is recruiting a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in Glasgow. The role focuses on Azure and Microsoft 365, security, and driving cloud transformation within a collaborative IT team.

You will own infrastructure security projects, manage AVD and Entra ID, and help shape a modern, resilient cloud environment. The position offers hybrid work and a strong pension package.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Proven expertise in cloud security and identity management (Entra ID).
• Experience deploying Defender and Purview security technologies.
• Strong background in Azure infrastructure management (VMs, networking, storage).
• Knowledge of hybrid Active Directory and cloud migration strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management and security of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Deploy and configure Defender, Purview, and Entra ID security controls.
• Support moving to a fully cloud-native infrastructure and reduce on-premise reliance.
• Implement Purview labels, data classification, and information protection policies.
• Manage Azure Virtual Desktop and associated cloud infrastructure.
• Strengthen IAM with Entra ID, Conditional Access, and privileged access controls.
• Support cloud security governance, compliance and vulnerability management.
• Contribute to automation, monitoring, backup, and DR initiatives.
• Provide expert technical support within a tight-knit IT team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Taking a leading technical role in the management, security and development of the organisation's Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Deploying and configuring Microsoft security technologies, including Defender, Purview and Entra ID.
• Supporting the transition towards a fully cloud-native infrastructure, reducing reliance on traditional on-premise systems.
• Implementing Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels, data classification and information protection policies.
• Managing and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), virtual servers and associated cloud infrastructure.
• Strengthening identity and access management through Entra ID, Conditional Access and privileged access controls.
• Supporting cloud security, governance, compliance and vulnerability management.
• Contributing to infrastructure automation, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
• Providing technical expertise and occasional hands-on end-user support as part of a close-knit IT team.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft technology expertise and a particular focus on cloud security.

• Strong commercial experience working with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, identity management and cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender and associated security technologies.
• Experience administering Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking and storage.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, hybrid environments and cloud migration.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex infrastructure environments.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Microsoft Purview, including information protection and data classification.
• Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
• PowerShell, Azure CLI and infrastructure automation.
• VMware, Kubernetes and networking technologies.
• Cisco and Meraki networking solutions.
