Job summary

Starling Bank in Manchester is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve our multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, with a strong focus on secure, scalable data-centre operations.

You will collaborate with software engineers and security teams, applying IaC practices and driving automation to reduce toil while delivering critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Strong background in data centre networks, routing, and secure traffic isolation.
• Experience with AWS and GCP multi-cloud environments.
• Proficient in IaC and automation tooling for infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical infrastructure implementations.
• Make changes to critical physical infrastructure supporting the bank.
• Design patterns and frameworks for use by other teams.
• Introduce automation to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Take ownership of projects and ensure timely delivery.
• Diagnose system and network failures under pressure.
• Stay updated on new technologies and industry changes.
• Collaborate with Security and Developer Experience teams.
