Job summary

Gardiner & Theobald LLP is seeking Assistant & Project Commercial Managers to support growth in infrastructure projects across London, Birmingham and Buckinghamshire. You will work within Cost and Commercial Management teams, collaborating with senior leadership on high-profile rail and related projects.

The role emphasizes day-to-day contract administration, cost control, estimating support, and planning, with a focus on governance, client service and professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified.
• MRICS preferred, but training can be provided.
• Experience with NEC contracts and other standard forms.
• Pre or post contract experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and managing contractual correspondence and notices.
• Contribute to contract management planning and commercial strategy.
• Evaluate time and cost changes (variations, claims, force majeure).
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution activities.
• Maintain governance-compliant contractual administration and records.
• Advise on cost-related matters and maintain CBS/WBS.
• Input into cost forecasts, liabilities and accruals.
• Draft programme-related correspondence and KPI reporting.
• Prepare procurement strategies and manage tender documentation.
• Support risk management and maintain risk registers.
