We’re recruiting a Trainee IT Network Manager to join a supportive school trust environment where technology is key to success.

You’ll work closely with experienced IT professionals to manage and support a wide range of systems and devices across multiple school sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid IT support experience who’s ready to step into a more strategic and hands-on infrastructure-focused role.

What you'll be doing:

1. Supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure across the trust (servers, networks, end-user devices)
2. Managing user accounts and permissions via Active Directory and Google Workspace
3. Troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues for staff and students
4. Assisting with rolling out upgrades, updates, and new technologies
5. Supporting school events and ensuring minimal downtime across all IT systems
6. Liaising with external suppliers and IT partners when needed

What we’re looking for:

1. Experience in a school or education setting is highly desirable
2. Hands-on knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
3. Understanding of Windows Server, AD, Intune, SCCM, and basic networking (Cisco/Meraki)
4. A clear communicator with a can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset
5. Someone keen to learn, grow, and potentially step into a full Network Manager role in the future
6. CompTIA A+ / Network+
7. Microsoft or Google certifications
8. ITIL Foundation
9. Degree or diploma in IT (or working towards one)
