Information Security Operations Manager (SOC)

One of the UK’s leading providers of critical infrastructure for trade requires a SecOps Manager.

The role involves leading the operations of the Information Security team, ensuring top-tier protections, and managing business-as-usual cybersecurity activities aligned with technical and business strategies, following industry best practices.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and enhancing the company's cybersecurity posture, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation, reporting on defenses, and contributing to long-term security strategies.

  1. Develop and support the DevSecOps initiatives within the team.
  2. Manage relationships with security partners.
  3. Participate in management forums to promote cybersecurity best practices.
  4. Deputize for the Information Security Lead when necessary, including incident response.
  5. Maintain and improve security technologies like antivirus, encryption, identity management, and cloud security.
  6. Ensure effective communication and escalation procedures with internal teams.
  7. Report on security status and assist with audits and incident investigations.
  8. Recommend tools and countermeasures, perform risk assessments, and test systems for vulnerabilities.
  9. Maintain security procedures with external vendors and assist with disaster recovery planning.
  10. Stay current with the latest security threats and practices.
  11. Work independently or as part of a team, meeting deadlines and budgets.
  12. Hold a recognized security qualification (e.g., Microsoft certifications, CISMP, CEH).
  13. Possess security operations experience and a solid IT technical background.
  14. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, able to guide staff at all levels.
  15. Willing to travel as required for projects and site visits.
  16. Demonstrate strong customer service values, teamwork, honesty, and ambition.
  17. Minimum of 2 years' experience in infrastructure security roles.
  18. Knowledge of ISMS, NIS Regulations, GDPR, and ITIL.
  19. In-depth experience with MS cloud technologies such as Intune, Defender suite, Azure, Entra.
