Job description

An opportunity has arisen in our Information and Governance Team for an experienced Information Officer. The role is based at our Headquarters in Sheffield, with agile home working. You will join a customer-focused team that provides a high-quality service to the public and to our staff.

You will be responsible for managing the Headquarters reception service and directly line managing the Administrator Receptionist post. This includes making sure the reception area provides a professional, welcoming first point of contact for visitors, staff and members of the public.

You will maintain and develop the Service’s intranet content. This will involve using your excellent computer skills and knowledge to work with departments across the organisation and make sure information is published clearly and accurately using the relevant software and document management systems.

You will maintain an up-to-date database of Service policies and key documents, and make sure these documents are linked to the relevant intranet content.

You will manage customer feedback survey processes. This includes issuing information on time, recording returns, collating results in the right systems, and sharing findings to highlight good practice and identify service improvements.

You will use your customer service skills to manage the valediction notification process, providing sensitive and respectful support to bereaved families and helping by communicating information.

To be considered for this role, you will need experience of line management and customer service, along with excellent communication skills. You should be able to provide a high-quality support service, manage several tasks at the same time, and organise your day around urgent customer service needs.

You should also have a strong background in organisation and administration, with confident use of Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint. Experience of using a website content management system would be helpful, but training will be provided. You should also hold at least an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Administration.

For more information about the role contact Tracey Wiles on 0114 2532399.

Closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday 9 November 2026.
