Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Infection Prevention and Control Team in Wakefield. You will provide expert IPC guidance, assess infection risks, interpret microbiology results, and lead teaching initiatives across the Trust's sites.

The role requires post-registration acute care experience, a teaching qualification, and flexibility to travel between sites, including weekend or on-call shifts. NHS pension and generous leave are included.

Qualifications

• Post-registration experience in an acute setting.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Experience in audit and teaching activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide infection prevention and control advice and guidance to staff, patients and others using national/local guidance.
• Assess and manage infection risks from patients, staff, equipment and environment and recommend control measures.
• Interpret microbiology information and judge clinical relevance.
• Support surveillance and audit and share findings.
• Develop and deliver staff teaching using various approaches.
• Contribute to policy, procedures and standards development and review.
• Advise clinical teams and work across professional boundaries.
• Travel between sites and participate in weekend/on-call arrangements as required.
