Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse (Band 6) to deliver high-quality IPC services across the Trust. The post holder provides specialist advice, education, surveillance, audit and support to clinical and non-clinical teams to reduce healthcare-associated infection, improve patient safety and promote compliance with national guidance.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse/Midwife on the NMC / HCPC Register.
• BSC degree (health related) with post graduate diploma level specialist training or equivalent qualification / training or experience.
• Post registration qualification in Infection prevention and control.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice, education, surveillance, audit and support to clinical and non-clinical teams to reduce healthcare-associated infection and improve patient safety.
• Promote compliance with national guidance and work with IPC colleagues on complex or strategic issues.
