Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Infection Prevention and Control Team. The role focuses on reducing healthcare-associated infections, providing specialist IPC advice and education across the Trust.

You will work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team, participate in weekend on-call arrangements, and contribute to policy development and staff training.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with post-registration experience.
• Recognised Teaching Qualification.
• Interest in Infection Prevention and Control.
• Experience in an acute setting.
• Audit experience.
• Formal and informal teaching; multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Evidence of continued professional development.

Responsabilités

• Provide infection prevention and control advice and guidance to staff, patients and carers.
• Assess and manage infection risks for patients, staff, equipment and environment.
• Interpret microbiological information for infection prevention decisions.
• Collaborate across teams to support IPC practice.
• Participate in infection surveillance and data dissemination.
• Contribute to clinical audit and implement improvements.
• Develop and deliver IPC education for staff.
• Support policy review and development for IPC standards.
• Support investigation of incidents and service failures.
• Contribute to service development and IPC objectives.
