Job summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Nurse/Practitioner to lead and develop the IPC service across trust sites. The post holder will provide expert IPC advice, coordinate audits and surveillance, and contribute to education for staff, patients and partners.

Key duties include on-call weekend rota participation, policy development, and collaboration with UKHSA, SHA, and PFI partners to reduce infection risks and improve patient

Qualifications

• Specialist IPC nurse/practitioner role within IPCT.
• Experience in surveillance, audit and outbreak investigations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records relevant to IPC practice.
• Ensure effective teamwork and communication with colleagues.
• Develop IPC policies, guidelines and projects to enhance infection control.
• Support learning of students and staff to develop IPC competence.
• Participate in IPC research, surveillance and outbreak investigations.
