Job summary

IONATE in London is seeking a Lead Industrialisation Engineer to drive the transition of the HIT from engineering builds into safe, repeatable UK manufacturing and scalable contract manufacturing.

You will translate product designs into robust manufacturing processes, lead DFM/DFA reviews, and coordinate evidence for production‑readiness reviews. This is a senior hands-on role bridging Engineering and Operations to enable scale‑up.

Qualifications

• Experience taking complex electromechanical hardware from prototype to repeatable production.
• Ability to work with engineers and technicians on the shop floor to solve build issues while maintaining configuration discipline.
• Collaborative and pragmatic style to align Engineering and Operations.
• Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing or production engineering, with travel flexibility in the UK and to suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the industrialisation delivery plan and coordinate actions between Engineering and Operations.
• Translate product and manufacturing strategies into practical build concepts and equipment needs.
• Own manufacturing equipment delivery and ensure safety, capability and production readiness.
• Lead manufacturing readiness documentation and manage gaps, owners and approvals.
• Facilitate design for manufacture and assembly reviews and manage changes with engineering authority.
• Manage production-readiness risks and escalate unresolved issues for decisions.
• Support early builds on the shop floor and improve first-pass yield and cycle times.
• Implement and track configuration changes, ensuring traceability and proper release.
• Lead manufacturing-partner transfer and provide documentation, training and readiness evidence.
• Drive industrialisation readiness with milestones, actions, risks, and build metrics.
