IONATE is a deep tech scale-up building the hardware and software backbone for smart grids. Our mission is to transform power systems, unlocking the potential in this sector that touches every aspect of our modern lives.

We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team in London, working hands-on in build and test areas and collaborating with engineering to move HIT into safe, repeatable production with contract partners.

Qualifications

• Technical foundation in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic or production engineering.
• Hands-on work preference and ability to assemble, measure and modify in build areas.
• Experience supporting manufacture or industrialisation of electromechanical hardware.
• Ability to create clear bills of materials, routings, work instructions and training materials.
• Experience developing or commissioning jigs, fixtures, workstations and process controls.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, FMEA, control plans, process validation and readiness reviews.
• Ability to investigate build/process problems using data and root-cause methods.
• Experience with bills of materials, drawings, deviations and engineering changes in ERP/PLM environments.

Responsabilités

• Carry out hands-on build support on shop floor.
• Develop manufacturing routes, sequences and work-cell methods.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and build records.
• Develop tooling, fixtures and line-side equipment.
• Implement manufacturability improvements with engineering collaboration.
• Support process quality, validation and corrective actions.
• Maintain as-built records and apply product changes.
• Measure and improve cycle time, labour hours and yield.
