Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Industrial Placement Quantity Surveyor for the Infrastructure team on the Sizewell C project in Ipswich, Suffolk. This 12-month placement provides hands-on experience in the commercial and financial aspects of construction, mentored by experienced professionals, with a clear path to a graduate role.

Based at the Kier Main Compound near A12, you''ll work 40 hours per week, start in September 2027, and benefit from 26 days holiday and wellbeing programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Interest in quantity surveying and construction industry with motivation to learn.
• Numerical confidence with the ability to use data for decision-making (with support).
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to feedback.
• Team player with collaboration and reliability.
• Hold a full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing all contractual and financial aspects of construction projects.
• Manage commercial resources of the project.
• Assist in maximizing gross profit for projects.
• Assess, review, and mitigate contractual/financial risks and value work by sub-contractors.
• Help prepare sub-tenders and contract documents.
• Collaborate with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements.
