Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Industrial Placement Quantity Surveyor Student to join the Infrastructure team on the Sizewell C project in Ipswich, Suffolk. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and a strong foundation in quantity surveying.

Starting salary £27,976 per annum, a 12-month pathway (40 hours/week) with potential to progress to a Graduate position. Start date is September 2027. Kier emphasises development, inclusion, and early industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or closely related discipline.
• Demonstrates numerical confidence and ability to use data to support decision-making.
• Shows enthusiasm for learning and ability to adapt to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
• Help maximise gross profit and manage project commercial resources.
• Assess and mitigate commercial/contractual risks and value work by sub-contractors.
• Assist in preparing sub-tenders and contract documents.
• Collaborate with project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements.
