Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Basildon invites industrial placement students to spend a year with us, working on meaningful projects with multidisciplinary teams across the product lifecycle. You will be paid £26,228 and receive coaching and support from a dedicated team to help you achieve placement objectives and personal development goals.

Successful completion of the Industrial Placement may lead to an offer on our Graduate Development Programme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field as listed in the posting.
• Self-motivated and willing to develop continuously.
• Strong communication across multiple mediums (written, verbal, digital).
• Ability to work with peers and stakeholders and apply DFx principles.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to mechanical design and development.
• Work in the integrated project team and provide accurate mechanical engineering output.
• Support and facilitate reviews.
• Liaise with systems, electrical, quality and production to satisfy requirements.
• Perform hands-on mechanical design using 3D CAD or analysis software.
• Deliver design solutions within budget and timescales.
• Create documentation in line with BS8888 and GD&T for manufacture and inspection.
• Manage design documentation through the PDM system.
