Placements24 seeks an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead plant layout and facilities design in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on optimizing production lines, machinery, and workspaces to improve efficiency and safety through CAD-driven layouts and ergonomic analysis.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams, develop detailed 2D/3D models, simulate layouts, and ensure compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 4-6 years in industrial engineering with plant layout or facilities design experience.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout design.
• Experience with simulation software for modeling material flow and efficiency.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials handling, and safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and redesign plant layouts to optimize material flow and productivity.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D facility models using CAD software.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance and safety to meet requirements and safety standards.
• Analyze space utilization and identify opportunities for consolidation or expansion.
• Plan installation of new equipment and production lines for smooth integration.
• Develop simulation models to test layout efficiency and identify bottlenecks.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare layout drawings and reports for review.
