Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimise production processes at a Randburg facility. You will design, implement, and improve manufacturing systems for automotive components while driving efficiency, quality, and cost control.

The role requires a solid background in Lean/Six Sigma, CAD/CAM, and automation, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced automotive environment. On-site work in Randburg is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, with automotive experience preferred.
• Strong background in process design, Lean/Six Sigma, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and production lines for automotive components.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Design and procure new equipment and tooling for cost-effective performance.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new processes.
• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and safety standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, quality, and supply chain for launches and ramp-ups.
• Lead projects with timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Mentor junior engineers and operators.
