Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead facility layout and design initiatives. The role is hybrid, based in Randburg, South Africa, with both on-site collaboration and remote analytical work to optimize layouts, material handling, safety, and efficiency.

You will leverage CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Revit and simulation software like Arena or AnyLogic, work with operations, safety and maintenance teams, and drive feasibility studies, cost estimates, and implementation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in industrial engineering focusing on facility layout, design, and material handling.
• Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation/modeling tools for facility design.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing is desirable.

About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to lead initiatives in Facility Layout & Design . This is a hybrid role based in the vibrant area of Randburg, Gauteng , offering a balance between on-site collaboration and remote analytical work. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing facility layouts and designing optimized spaces that improve workflow, material handling, safety, and overall operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes, material flow principles, and advanced CAD/simulation tools. You will work closely with operations, engineering, and management teams to translate business needs into effective facility designs. Your expertise will be critical in shaping the physical infrastructure that supports our client's strategic growth and operational objectives. This hybrid position allows for hands‑on engagement with facilities while leveraging remote capabilities for in-depth analysis and design work, supporting operations across South Africa .
