Job summary
Placements24 seeks an Industrial Engineer specializing in automation and robotics to modernize Randburg-based production lines. You will identify automation opportunities, design robotic solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing processes.
You will develop PLC programs, robot control logic, and HMI interfaces, conduct validation and troubleshooting, and train operators and maintenance staff on new systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong focus on automation and robotics implementation.
- Proven experience with industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and associated programming.
- Familiarity with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for automation and robotics within manufacturing processes.
- Design, develop, and implement automated systems and robotic solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Develop and maintain PLC programs, robot control logic, and HMI interfaces.
- Conduct performance testing, validation, and troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Ensure all automation projects comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver training programs for operators and maintenance staff on new automated systems.
- Analyze data from automated systems to identify opportunities for further optimization and improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships and technical specifications for automation equipment.
