Hendy Power supplies engines, major assemblies, and original equipment components to Industrial, Off-Highway, Power Generation, and Marine markets, along with outstanding aftermarket service support and OEM parts. We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engine Sales Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on liaising with B2B prospects, matching client requirements with suitable OEM solutions, and nurturing relationships with existing customers.

The Opportunity

As an Industrial Engine Sales Specialist, you will support the Hendy Power Brand Manager by utilising your expertise in OEM products to identify new market opportunities, acquire new customers, and develop solutions that best meet client needs. You will primarily work with our clients, including FPT Industrial, Lister Petter, and Ford FCS, covering UK and Ireland sales. Frequent travel across the UK and Ireland is required for this position.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales & Quotations: Prepare and follow up on quotations and tenders in line with OEM policies, ensuring compliance and maximising business opportunities.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with existing customers, while identifying and developing new prospects to drive sales.
  • Project Management: Ensure delivery dates, lead times, and contractual commitments are met to customer expectations.
  • Business Development: Actively pursue new business opportunities and sales leads, whether from trade journals, other sales teams, or OEM partners, to increase sales and gross profit.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Participate in regular sales reviews, both in the UK and overseas, to strengthen OEM and customer relationships.
  • Sales Performance: Work proactively within agreed budgets, collaborating with the Brand Manager and OEM partners to ensure profitability and growth.
  • Event Attendance: Represent Hendy Power at OEM trade shows when required, maintaining visibility in the market.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic, adaptable sales professional who can drive results and is comfortable working in a customer-focused, high-performance environment. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Preferably experience in Diesel Engine sales or a related industry.
  • Strong account management skills and the ability to nurture long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport with clients, influencing them effectively.
  • A proven track record of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across the UK and Ireland (including overnight stays).
  • Skill to think strategically and creatively to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • The ability to be adaptable to changes in the business environment and focused on achieving both short-term and long-term goals.
