Job summary

JobsTrackR is seeking a software professional to join our Bridgend, South Wales team. You will review specifications, define software requirements, and work with multidisciplinary engineers to deliver industrial automation software supporting equipment performance and customer applications.

The role involves designing specifications, developing VB.NET based software, and maintaining system operation documents.

Qualifications

Five years of professional software development experience.
Demonstrable VB.NET programming experience.
Experience developing software for industrial automation or machinery.

Responsibilities

Review customer specifications and engineering docs to define software requirements and functionality for projects.
Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver software supporting equipment performance and customer applications.
Create and maintain software design specs, system architecture, interfaces, and operation descriptions.
Write and maintain application software and machine-control functionality using suitable tools and languages.
Prepare technical records covering software configuration, design decisions, and maintenance procedures.
Design and execute tests to assess software performance and verify requirements.
Participate in software reviews and engineering meetings and suggest improvements.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and coordinate solutions.
Assist with software installation, equipment integration, site acceptance, and commissioning (occasional overseas visits).
Keep up to date with developments in industrial software and control engineering.
