Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Associate Director for Indirect Tax Transformation focused on e-invoicing. Hybrid location across London/Reading/Bristol.

You will lead end-to-end e-invoicing engagements, shaping delivery from design to go-live, while coaching senior team members and managing client relationships. This role requires deep tax technology knowledge, regional e-invoicing experience, and a strong track record in business development within a professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering tax technology or e-invoicing implementations in consulting or in-house environments.
• Deep knowledge of e-invoicing/e-reporting regimes across major regions (EU, MENA, LATAM, APAC).
• Hands-on experience implementing/integrating an e-invoicing or tax platform.
• Ability to lead multi-stakeholder technology engagements with budget, risk and quality oversight.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Proven business development experience including proposals and client relationships.
• People leadership: coaching and developing teams across engagements.
• Understanding of engagement risk, quality standards and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of e-invoicing projects, managing scope, budget, risk and quality across the full project lifecycle.
• Support, develop and maintain alliances with third-party technology providers.
• Interpret country-specific e-invoicing mandates globally and translate into practical delivery actions.
• Act as a senior point of contact on engagements, building relationships with Tax, Finance and IT stakeholders.
• Lead and coach project teams across multiple levels.
• Own engagement risk and quality; apply policies and maintain documentation.
• Drive business development: identify opportunities, lead proposals and bids.
• Strengthen the wider practice: refine delivery methodology and tools, support recruitment.
