Job summary

First Blue Healthcare Limited seeks an experienced inspector to conduct monthly Regulation 44 visits to children’s homes and produce comprehensive reports for Ofsted submission. The role requires rigorous, impartial assessments of safeguarding and welfare, and the ability to engage with young people about their care experiences.

You will provide clear recommendations to improve service quality, alert leadership to safeguarding concerns, and travel across the Midlands and North West, including

Qualifications

• Significant experience in children’s care sector (manager, social worker, or independent visitor).
• Excellent understanding of the Children’s Home (England) Regulations 2015 and the social care inspection framework.
• Quality assurance experience in residential settings including file and paperwork audits.
• Strong communication and engagement skills with young people and their networks.
• Proven report writing skills and ability to provide actionable recommendations.
• Understanding of safeguarding and GDPR in practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertake monthly regulated visits (Regulation 44) to children’s homes and compile reports for Ofsted submission.
• Provide rigorous, impartial assessments of safeguarding and welfare arrangements.
• Engage with children to evaluate quality of care and experiences.
• Propose recommendations to improve home performance and outcomes for young people.
• Alert director of care if safeguarding concerns arise and ensure reporting is prompt.
• Travel across Midlands and North West and accommodate weekend/evening visits when needed.
