Job summary

CIH International Housing Group is seeking an Independent Living Advisor for a full-time, permanent role covering the East London region (Stamford Hill). You will support older people to maintain independence, wellbeing and quality of life, traveling across schemes within East London.

The role involves housing management duties, assisting with viewings, tenancy agreements, benefits guidance, and signposting to relevant services. 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting older people to promote independent living.
• Strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Good administrative and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver housing management services across sheltered schemes.
• Support residents through viewings and moving-in process.
• Explain tenancy agreements, rights and responsibilities.
• Advise on accessing financial support and housing benefits.
• Signpost to services such as assistive technology or adaptations.
• Carry out scheme inspections and monitor health and safety standards.
• Travel across East London schemes as part of a floating role.

We are currently recruiting for an Independent Living Advisor to join our team on a full time, permanent basis covering the East London region (Stamford Hill)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

You will be working 35 per week, over 5 days, Monday - Friday.

Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality housing management services across our sheltered schemes. You will build strong relationships with residents, support prospective tenants through viewings and the moving-in process, and ensure residents fully understand their tenancy agreements, including their rights and responsibilities.

You will also provide advice and guidance on accessing financial support, including housing-related benefits, and signpost or refer residents to appropriate services such as assistive technology, property adaptations, or additional support where needed. As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will carry out scheme inspections, ensure health and safety standards are met, and monitor contractor performance to maintain high service delivery standards.

As this is a floating role, flexibility to travel across schemes in the East London region is essential.
