Job summary

The Isle of Wight College is seeking inclusive Learning Support Assistants to join our Additional Learning Support team. You will help learners with a range of needs to access education, develop independence and achieve personal goals.

Work is term-time only with flexible hours, providing a supportive environment where you can balance family life while making a meaningful difference to students' outcomes and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored educational, emotional and practical support to students with additional needs.
• Support learners to engage in lessons, workshops, enrichment activities and work-related learning.
• Assist students with developing confidence, independence, communication and social skills.
• Promote student wellbeing and encourage learners to overcome barriers to learning.
• Support students with personal care and mobility needs where required.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, parents/carers and support services to meet learner needs.
• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare, dignity and rights of all learners.
