Job summary

Loughborough College Group is hiring Learning Support Assistants to provide high-quality support for students with learning difficulties across Brooksby and Stephenson campuses. Roles are term-time only (36 weeks) with in-class and online assistance.

Supports include notetaking, personal care and mobility support, with training opportunities and a commitment to safeguarding. Excellent communication with students and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• You must possess at least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Experience of working with young people.
• Have a sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• You will have a flexible and can-do approach; be committed to teamwork.
• Have a positive approach towards all students.
• Excellent communication skills that enable you to work effectively with a range of students and staff.

Responsibilities

• To support students in a sensitive, professional, discrete and confidential manner
• To encourage personal and academic independence, self-empowerment and self-help skills wherever possible
• To contribute to the development of individual learning programmes in liaison with Support Coordinators and course tutors
• To ensure that students are receiving the appropriate level of support and report any issues to the Support Co-ordinators
