Job summary

Meon Junior School is seeking a Higher Level Teacher Assistant (HLTA) on a fixed term basis until 31/08/2027 to join a dedicated and supportive team. You will deliver lessons during teacher PPA time, support pupils, and collaborate with class teachers to raise attainment and inclusive practices.

The role emphasizes helping pupils access the curriculum, promote independence and social inclusion, and participate actively in both classroom and wider school activities.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification would be desirable or working towards obtaining one.
• Experience in Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.
• Passionate about inclusive education and supporting all learners.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work collaboratively while also demonstrating independence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons to cover teacher PPA time and training.
• Work alongside class teachers to raise learning and attainment, promote independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
• Support individual pupils or small groups to access the curriculum and engage actively in their learning.
• Play a crucial role in both classroom-based and wider school activities.
