Job summary

Penbridge School is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team, supporting pupils’ learning across Infant and Junior Schools. You will cover PPA time, assist teachers, and help individual pupils access the curriculum in a collaborative environment.

The role requires KS1/KS2 experience, a passion for inclusive education, and strong communication skills to engage with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification would be desirable or the ability to work towards obtaining this.
• Previous experience in Key Stage 1 or 2.
• Passionate about inclusive education with ability to support all learners.
• Team player with initiative and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons to cover teacher PPA time and training.
• Work with class teachers to raise learning and attainment, promote independence, self-esteem and inclusion.
• Support individual pupils or small groups to access the curriculum and engage in learning.
• Play a key role in classroom activities and wider school events.
